Woo-hoo, it's working

Posted by waterfall on November 20, 2005, at 17:58:23

Normally I come here when meds aren't working but at the moment I have a cocktail that is providing significant relief and I just wanted to say woo-hoo! Thanks to everybody at the Big Bad drug companies for Lexapro, Lamictal and Klonopin. I'm not miserable for the first time in a really long time and I no longer feel inclined to jump off the nearest parking structure every time someone looks cross-eyed at me. I'm even sleeping through the night! Woo-hoo indeed!

That's great! So glad your meds are working so well for you. Usually people only post when meds don't work. Glad to see someone is having a positive effect. Fondly, Phillipa

How long, and how many different drug(s) did you try before arriving at this one?

Glad to hear your *positive* story!

This time around? I tried Wellbutrin at several doses along with Ativan. Baaaaad. Added the Lamictal and felt no change at all. Went in and asked for Klonopin as the Wellbutrin was driving me bat-crazy. Stopped the Wellbutrin, added 10 mgs of Lexapro and 1 mg of Klonopin at bedtime, which allowed me to stop taking the Ativan. I'm at 100 of Lamictal and after just five days on the Lexapro I really felt it kick in. In the past I've been on everything you can name, pretty much. Then, a two-year hiatus from drugs, now, I'm back to the meds.

I'm gaining some weight on the Lexapro, I'm having quite a bit of trouble with sexual response, and I have a little dry mouth. Compared to my persistent fantasies about jumping off a parking structure and crying three or four times every blessed day, I figure I'm ahead of the game. I work out more, my hubby can work at me a little more, and I drink extra water. It's all good.
