If we could brew up a drug just for you, something that could fix you in such a way as to make you want to live in the world of the conscious, what would it need to do?

Hi P
I'm sorry that you're feeling so bad. I know you don't want to hear this but I have to be honest. I think your alcohol, diazepam and Ritalin use is contributing to a decline in your mental health. You are tolerant to the beneficial effects of Ritalin but are suffering side effects. A gradual taper will be necessary to avoid withdrawal symptoms. I believe that you need to avoid stimulants from now on. They have not provided you with a long term solution to your problems. Alcohol, which often provides short term relief, can ruin your mental health in the long run. Seconal is not the answer. Dexedrine is not the answer. I am sure of this.
You need to find a new treatment for your anxiety, insomnia, depression and ADD. There are many options, both medical and non-medical.
You *can* get better.
Kind regards
Ed

Ok. That was helpful Ed. I hadn't known what PaulBWell was up against. It seems to me that those things can all be covered by as you say...
> There are many options, both medical and non-medical.
Surely, there are. You just have to know what beasts there are to slay.
I won't make any suggestions at this point - not that I would at all - without knowing more about things like symptomology, treatment history, history of psychosocial stress, and family history.
> You *can* get better.
Despite not knowing anything more about PaulBWell than the list that was given, I would say that this is much more likely than unlikely to occur. The odds are in his favor.
Hang in there PaulBWell. We'll try to help you realize the hopes and dreams that reside in your posting name.

I have started prozac, Ritalin, even 80mgs was not doing it. I have hopes for Serotonin boosting+norephrine (Prozac)an Dopamine reuptake+Norephrine reuptake with Ritalin.
I am still having issues with my alcohol intake, but working on it.
I took Prozac 10ys ago and again, 5 years ago-good and bad.
I value yr fedback, and just wanna live, ya know?
Perhaps methylphenidate, is causing anxiety, and Dextroamphetamine tabs would be better?-maybe not?
Cheers dude!
