Do you take Xanex?

Posted by rjlockhart98 on October 2, 2005, at 23:01:46

Sorry i jus had to spell it like Spriggy does. LOL

Anyways, i am going to ask my doctor that klonopin really makes me depressed, i take 6mg daily. 6MG. I have asked before about Xanax, but he didnt want to use it for a trial. I dont know do you think Valium is good, well i heard that diazepam wasnt good for panic disorder, just generalized anxiety (GAD), same to Ativan.

But im kinda hesitant becuase i've heard its withdrawl is bad, and propaganda that its "Alcohol in a pill" well Klonopin is Tequila in a pill.

hehehehe sorry i took temazepam so im not really here.

I hope this posts gets some posts.

Matt, xanax is used for panic attacks. But it has a short half-life. It doesn't sit well with a lot of pdocs today. Because of the short half=life you need to take it frequently. And I think the potential for abuse is there unless you only only take it when you feel a panic attack. Fondly, Phillipa

I did about 10 years ago, it has to be one of the most addictive little buggers on the market and has shocking withdrawals. It's too short acting and you have to keep dosing up on it. The kick is very hard and fast and I think that is where people gain their addiction from. THE HIT!! Danger will robinson, that's why pdoc's or GP's don't prescribe it very much these days. It chews you up and spits you out after it's finished with you or you with it. I just wouldn't go there because it's just soooo gooood to be true, at first and then big trouble

ive taken all of them: buspar, valium, restoril, xanax and klonopin. for me, klonopin by far worked the best and was really the only one that i felt an effect from. and again, as i have said before, 1 25mg seroquel equals 100mg klonopin. its like being shot by an elephant dart. but it works for me.

no one can say if you will have withdrawal problems. every med affects everyone differently. i hope it goes ok for you.

one thing you need to fight, and i dont even know if you are doing this, is the temptation to jump around to different meds quickly. it was a problem for me. id try something for 2 days, and announce it a failure and want to try something else. got to give it time.

~~~ Similar to spelling college as collage? (smile)
I tried extended release Xanax when it came on the market. As much as I think benzo's are a good idea for certain individuals, I was a little frightened by regular Xanax and it's potential for problems with it's frequent dosing. I was aware I needed 24 hour coverage and not just "as needed". The extended release had the same short half-life but was designed to be released over time. I did not find it covered my anxiety and panic as well as Klonopin did, so I went back to Klonopin.
I really liked Lost In Space. Especially Dr. Smith.
I like xanax. To me it feels like it even has some antidepressant properties to it when I take just .25mg at a time. Never tried klonopin.
Low dose zyprexa or seroquel. Low to medium dose depakote. Those are things you could consider. Incredible antianxiety with built in antidepessant and anti crazy all in one.
So in other words it's not fact. Just the way you feel. I once tried seroquel and I know what you mean. But it still didn't allow me to sleep through the night. And that was combined with chloral hydrate at the time. But since I've been using valium the period of time is longer. Fondly, Phillipa
800mg of seroquel barely puts me to sleep.
