Is here somebody without tolerance symptoms to anxiety of bz's like Tranxene, Valium, Demetrin, Solatran... and others like Lexotan, Klonopin, Xanax with <constant maintenance dosage> for a year or more?
Warm regards

Common meaning of most but not all professors of neuropharmacology is definitely <tolerance>. Thats why I am interested in experienced decent users apart from theoretical pharmacology and like this to ask again from time to time. Everyday other experienced p-babblers visiting the board thus I can make a better impression statistically.
Warm regards

Yep - I was monotherapy for three years on Klonopin for garden variety anxiety disorder - GAD, panic, and agoraphobia, assorted symptoms of rumination.... the usual findings.

Thanks Glydin and thanks for every further shared experience. What was your maintenance dosage, Glydin?

Been on them all at one time or another for over 30years and I have developed a tolerance for them. But I used to take them during the day. Now I only take valium at night to sleep. In writing this post maybe I need valium throughout the day. This could be why I'm always anxious. Fondly, Phillipa

Hi. I've taken xanax for more than 1.5 years without any loss of effectiveness for anxiety. The dose I take varies up and down depending on need (external stressors, other meds, etc). Taken over the long haul, I haven't had any increase in the average amount I use.

Hi sdb,
I've weaned down at present to .125 mgs (Klonopin dust) twice a day. I've been on Lex for 8 months and have found that to be a great med for me and therefore weaning has been possible.
Klonopin has been good to me and I would not hesitate to use it again in montherapy. I shall always be glad for it. At the highest dose, I used 2 mgs per day and would titrate after the first year of use - generally from .5 mgs per day to the max (for me) 2 mgs according to my response.
I hope you find a good treatment for yourself. It is possible.
Best,
Glydin

Hi,
I've been on Klonopin for about a year and a half and have not developed any tolerance as to its anxiolytic effect. It still works just as well as ever at .5mg.
OTOH, I developed a very rapid tolerance to ATivan. I was using it for sleep instead of for anxiety, though. Withdrawal was hell.
This is the end of the thread.
