how is parnate for social anxiety? nardil side-fx?

Posted by iforgotmypassword on September 23, 2005, at 9:36:53

my main horrible problems are apathy, amotivation, anhedonia, and extreme cognitive dulling, so i am considering an MAOI next. edging towards parnate...

but also i have a lot of trouble with people, always saying the dumbest things, or freezing into not being able to say anyting, sweating like crazy, getting very clumsy, or just withdrawing... but also this could very well be part of my cognitive probs.

is nardil really superior for this? i have very little knowlege of the side effects, but they are always mentionned as being severe. i am not interested in ANY more cognitive slowing, unless its the calm collected and effective thinking type slowing. i already over eat and weigh more than what i'd like. what else is there?

im really tempted by the nardil because of all of the rave reviews (more than parnate it seems), and people may be suggesting more poop out with parnate. but i already have parnate at home, so if my doctor decides to be an *sshole and not increase my dose when i need to try, then i can do it myself. (he really doesn't care)

I think it might (partly) depend on how well you sleep now and how well you can cope with the stimulation of Parnate. Apart from the sleep thing there aren't any cognitive problems with Parnate.
But you've taken it before from the sound of it. How did you find it?
I don't think Parnate's brilliant for social anxiety, but nothing commonly available is, except for nardil maybe.

my effects at 40mg were minimal if existant... i think my hypersomnelence was receding a little, but i dont remember. i don't necessarily remember overstimulation. the only noticable effect was how i would just turn into a slug if i forgot to take it. i was thinking 40mg was too low to notice much benefit?

Just a personal opinion here, but i find parnate is a drug that HAS to be augmented,if not to decrease the negative effects such as over stimulation insomnia etc.......then to keep it from pooping out.

Hook23 Homer Mr.Burns called, said if you dont come in friday dont bother comming in monday,WOOHOO 3 DAY WEEKEND!!
