Neurons anti-seizure meds!!!!!!!!!Help

Posted by woolav on September 7, 2005, at 14:06:50

I know that meds like lamictal and trileptal have something to do with neurons in the brain. (I take both of these meds)
During a bad manic episode several months ago, I am unable to recall something that is important! I know that memory has to do with neurons too, so, i am wondering if because of the fact that i am on these medications now, could it affect my ability to remember? Its killing me not to be able to recall all the details..............

Don't a lot of people not remember what happened when they were manic just because they were manic?

Im sure you are right in a way sleepygirl. I think ppl remember bits and pieces unless its a psychotic episode.
I am just trying to find out if there is a correlation between memory and drugs like lamictal and trileptal. I am aware that these meds can cause short term memory loss, but what i want to know is if taking these meds now, while not manic, could be stopping me from remembering something that happened when i was in an episode?

Woolav if you can't remember something from a manic episode how do you know you can't remember something. Is there someone who is saying you did something you can't remember? Fondly, Phillia

Yes, I remember part of it, but what I think/believe happened, is diff. than what ive been told. Its a long story....
I actually havent been told what supposidly really happened, I am just suppose to magically remember an event that I dont think took place. I am being pressured into this by my husband. He thinks I know and just wont say. But he says he knows the real truth, but wont tell me. Its driving me mad. At this point, I dont know what is reality and what isnt.
This whole thing is making me feel crazy and then i get depressed and think of suicide.
