I currenly take 30mg (Restoril)
I take Clonazepam 5 mg divided daily to prevent panic, but a side effect is depression.
Can i take 1 Restoril tablet during a panic attack.
I have heard it is used for panic attacks but mainly has sedative properties rather than antianxiety.
Is Restoril similar to Xanax in effects?

Restoril is a sleep med, xanax is way better for panic attacks.

I take 15 mg's of Restoril (weaning off of it), it seems to create an anti anxiety affect on me but it mostly just lulls me to sleep.
I imagine though that if you took it, it would relax you and help you deal with a panic attack.

I've only taken temazepam a few times. I found it pleasantly relaxing, it eased my anxiety and helped me sleep. It feels quite similar to diazepam (Valium) IMO.

Occasionally, ~10mg prn... Valium is the most popular benzo in the UK.

Hi Ed,
I think that temazepam (Restoril in the US) is one of the most pleasant and effective sleep aids that I have ever tried. Very, very relaxing and allows one to just drift off to sleep. I never had any "hangover" in the morning. I really liked it. :) Laurie

I agree, it was the best I've tried. It was calming and had a muscle relaxant effect. I didn't have a hangover... or any other side effects for that matter.
