I owe a lot to Nardil, the only drug to ever have a good affect on my severe social anxiety... I now have a girlfriend which I never thought woulda been possible before..........

I recommend Nardil for SA

I have heard a lot lately about Nardil being good for SA. Do you have t watch your diet? For example, can you eat pizza or other foods with cheese?

Hi Nick
How much do you take? How do you divide the dose? I take 30mg bid. Nardil is the most mysterious drug I have ever taken :-)

Hi Ed,
in complexity of action. To be continued... :-) Within 10-15 days I will compare Parnate and Nardil and present my profile. Everything in the form of a short report.

I've been on Nardil for just under three weeks. My social anxiety seems to be under control, but it has been since I started Depakote last summer. What it's not doing is alleviating the depression. Has it helped you with that, or was it not an issue to begin with? It's probably too early for me to tell if it's going to help...I just went up to 60 mg.

Hi there
So did you find *no* relief from depression at 45mg? Nardil fits the profile for me, but the s/e are a worry.

Not at 45mg...but again, at that point I'd only been on it for two and a half weeks. It's been three weeks now, and I'm up to 60...I do feel more motivated. I have no problem carrying on conversations with others in social situations, either. My problem is that I'm extremely preoccupied with my personal appearance...do you think that could be more of an OCD-type symptom?

I've never taken it properly. 30 years ago I took it for a couple of days and I thought I could feel it straight away, but I never continued, being frightened then about the diet thing. What I meant is that what I know of the action of the drug fits well with my mood thing. The side effects would likely be a problem and a low dose, with low dose deprenyl is a thought.

If you are getting relief from anxiety but not depression with Nardil, try a dopaminergic drug. I recommend cabergoline. Also, memantine can help, as it has a dopaminergic effect, AFAIK.

The diet is really not a problem. I eat nearly everything I want to. My pdoc prescribed 0.1mg clonidine to be taken in the event of a hypertensive crisis.
