anyone else here take Restoril

Posted by Rjlockhart98 on May 27, 2005, at 17:29:15

I've been taking this for about 2 months now.

Temazepam 30mg

It sort of works, its not very potent to me, just some sedation with sleepiness.

I havent developed any tolerance to it, it would like to just go off, but i do have sleep problems, at night my mind thinks its 1:00 in the afternoon and thinks in the same mode. Very frustrating.

Lorazepam 2mg at night will make some sedation but it doenst make me in the mood for sleep.

When i dont take restoril, i take lorazepam 1-2mg depending what active mode im in, and also take Unisom 25mg (over the counter) this does actually get me to sleep when i need it.

Anyway, just wanted to hear from somebody.

take care..

Matt

Hi

I took it and I built up a tolerance within a week. If you want to try something that will really help you sleep try Amitryptaline (about 10 mg) or Surmontil. They will help you sleep for sure. Or a low dose of Remeron.

Maybe you should try Klonopin instead of the Ativan just to see the difference?

Good luck.

30 would be considered low actually. But who knows if it would have helped you. All I know is that I couldn't move when I took it.

I think temazepam is good stuff, with the usual provisos that apply to all benzos.....dependance, addiction, withdrawal, and whatever else. If you need to take 3X10mg, is it?, on a regular basis, I don't know. Maybe it's just having read Linkadge's latest post... I wonder about most ADs and all APs.

Declan, I know what you mean about Link's post. And Maxime, I thought l5mg of remeron was what was recommended for sleep? If this put you to sleep and you are so tx resistant, does this mean I'm more tx resistant. And I had to laugh about the salt~! Fondly, Phillipa

I have no idea what it means other than Remeron isn't a good sleep aid for you. Most people use 30 mg for sleep.

When I was on it the Threads all said l5mg for sleep and at higher doses wt loss. I have a whole bottle of it here do you think I should try it again? What about the wt gain? Is it at low or high doses? Fondly, Phillipa

Yes I believe it was 30mg that Spriggy took. I need to E-mail her and find out if she's home yet and moved into another house. She was having a lot of problems. Fondly, Phillipa

Well I E-mailed her and she responded. Don't feel comfortable giving out too much information that is private. But I will say she has lupus and fibromyalgia and feels really well some days on her tx. E-mailed her to ask what her tx it. Spriggy if you read this I hope I haven't violated your trust. But so many others here care about you. Fondly, Phillipa
