Question (I don't hate caffeine)

Posted by ixus on May 13, 2005, at 0:37:59

Hi,
I have tried to stop caffeine recently. Anxiety, OCD stopped, depression came back. I could not concentrate, I was so delicate.

I got back on caffeine.

Is there any interaction between caffeine and Parnate? Is it possible that I am still deeply depressed and caffeine relieves my symptoms only?

I don't know if theres any direct interaction as such between caffeine and Parnate.

However since their both stimulants I imagine that taking them together could have a synegistic effect.

I do know from personal experience that combining Dexedrine with caffeine produces a lot more anxiety.
Parnate is structurally similar to amphetamine (although its not an amphetamine and its not metabolised to amphetamine)
Therefor combining Caffeine with Parnate could produce more anxiety than Caffeine alone.

Perhapse the depression you experience after discontinuing Caffeine is Caffeine withdrawal?

Withdrawal would probably cause some fatigue and depression, it would also probably dissapere after a few days.

I am close to switch to Nardil but now I don't have a good moment to do so.

Once I combined Concerta, Parnate, caffeine. It was the most anxiogenic combo I have ever been on.

I don't know. Depression came few days after stopping caffeine. I cannot function without it.
I don't drink much. Just two cups a day.

Then drink the caffeine. I've read recently that caffeine stimulates the mind and is actually good for you if you don't drink too much. Maybe I should try drinking caffeine again. I used to love iced coffee. Fondly, Phillipa

Hi Ixus!

Headache is a common symptom of caffeine withdrawal. Did you have a headache?

Kind regards,
Ed.

Hi Phillipa,
I did not wait too long. I started drinking coffee few day ago again.
I have read somewhere that in nurse population caffeine prevented from suicide (lower rate in the coffee arm). Maybe caffeine has antidepressant properties indeed.

Wow my feelings are truly hurt,no one must pay any mind to my posts fore i have said over and over i have used Parnate in conjunction with vivaran many times.

Parnate on some days can feel like a sedative ,no matter how much u take there is a deep fatigue.Adding vivarin to this usualy helps i had instances where i had to use vivarin with it for two days straight to get parnate acitvating again, perhaps a build up of dopamine was needed i cant answer why.

I do know they synergise togther, when i first started there was a little discomfort doing it,but that faded. What also faded was the bliss and success of the combo when i first did it,wow did they work togther great, now like i said taking it with caffiene is no big whoop and no longer much of a added benifit as it once was,it simply now fights the fatigue parnate is notorious for, espcecialy the after noon fatigue.

Note: Smoking seems to for me decrease parnates effectiness as well as for me cause parnate to agititate me.

Awwwww Willy! I remember your posts. I guess caffeine tablets come under different brand names in different countries, you can't get Vivarin here.

Kind regards,
Ed.
