Hi,
Anyone use lamictal (lamotrigine) with any of the atypical antipsychotics, like risperdal and zyprexa?? Lamictal makes me hypomanic and im wondering whether using it with an atypical antipsychotic would stop that??

I cant answer your question, but i hope some others do. I take lamictal and seem to have hypomanic episodes also. I too am wondering about adding an AP drug, but I have heard many negative things about it. What type of hypomanic episodes have you had??? and have u been dx with bp or bp2??

Hey W,
Thanx for replying.. lamictal makes me pretty hypomanic, i always feel 'cured' after i take it.. I've been diagnosed as a soft bipolar II.. I never get hypomanic or manic without drugs.. i'm just wondering if anyone takes an atypical antipsychotic to help put a lid on the lamictal hypomania... i take zyprexa and prozac right now and its not helping my depression... i'm thinking about asking me pdoc if i can switch lamictal for the prozac..
