ive been on 300mg desipramine forever, the zyprexa isnt helping, is there anything wrong with trying it out?

No.
It is considered to be a safe combination if administered properly. This combination is the only thing that ever got me well. Unfortunately, the doctor elected to discontinue it after only 9 months. When I returned to the combination after a subsequent relapse, it never worked again.
I have been on as much as Parnate 120mg + desipramine 200mg and Parnate 80mg + desipramine 300mg.
It has been suggested that it is safer for one to already have the TCA on board before adding the MAOI. To be conservative, it might be a good idea to check your blood pressure several times during the first few days to be sure it hasn't risen. Be wary of a headache during this time as it might be indicative of hypertension. This is an infrequent reaction, though. It can even happen when starting Parnate as monotherapy.
