MEDHED... new and improved!

Posted by medhed on May 7, 2005, at 23:56:08

I apologize for my incoherent post last week about lunesta, if per chance anyone was offended. I am now taking Lexapro and it seems to be working well already. I was fine at 10mg. but when I said to the pdoc it was working she upped it to 20mg., a little to much. Week two of Effexor withdrawl and just some numbness and tingling in the extremities, I'm just glad I can feel again... Effexor was making me a zombie. I have a new pdoc and honesty is imperative as always, my last pdoc dropped me because she couldn't convince me my substance use on the side was interfering with my treatment. I now am going to follow my new pdocs treatment plan that explains no substances unless prescribed by her, no dosage inceases/decreases without her OK, and my therapist will be allowed to attend our meetings as my advocate and mediator. I am on day four of this agreement and am very happy that I finally am making decisions. Between you and me I wasn't very happy with what I was doing anyway. I will try to post on substance use the details of my abstinence when I get a chance. My plan as of today and hopefully my pdocs is to try 15mg. Lex, maybe 10mg., get off Welbutrin as it doesn't seem to be doing much more than a cig and a cup of joe, stimulant is definetly in order but she said she would take my suggestion of Deprenyl/DLPA... and research it (she has no idea of this treatment, a little surprising!) Have to go now!!! I will post later... I hope you guys will take me on, I really need the support and info that is available here. I will try to be less direct and angry.

Just trying to get well, M.H.

There is a risk that this post will be sent to the dreaded 'substance use section' so I will say no more. perhaps we can talk tomorrow in THAT section.
goodnight.

Great to see you back and I'm very supportive of your treatment plan. Honesty with our doctors is the best way to go to start feeling better.
See you on the boards,

I guess I missed your post that you say made others angry. Did you get Blocked? I'm glad for you that you have a plan of action that you feel good about. Fondly, Phillipa

Medhed,
Fo-ti (another MAO-B reversible) has impressed me more than selegine so far. Could be worth a try;-)

Redirect: Fo-ti

Sorry to interrupt, but I'd like to redirect follow-ups regarding Fo-ti to Psycho-Babble Alternative. Here's a link:

Thanks,
