Strattera, anyone? Concerta, anyone?

Posted by Maxime on April 5, 2005, at 22:55:49

Hi

Okay, so Adderall is no longer available, Ritalin and Ritalin SR make me crash, Dexedrine now makes me drowsy what else can I use that will help me with this apathy and inability to get up and go.

Can anyone tell me how Strattera worked or didn't worked for them?

And how is Concerta different from Ritalin?

Thanks.
Maxime

made me VERY thirsty and lost a couple pounds but didn't help at all with my focus/concentration.
-though i have heard it works wonders with some.

ps. Don't take at night. my pdoc kept trying to get me to take at night to help get me to sleep (i think he was high) finally i caved and it made my insomnia 10x worse. so i stopped altogether. using ritalinLA now. works well for me.
all best

I think that Concerta is a longer acting Ritalin. So maybe it help ease the crashes.

Concerta is methylphenidate - same drug as Ritalin,
but a very sophisticated delayed release. For me the
effects are very different - Ritalin made me anxious
and grumpy. Concerta makes me feel "normal." Only
negative is occasional tendency to hyperfocus on the
wrong thing.
