The Nardil is causing too many side effects and my doctor wants me to try Manerix (Moclobemide). I think it is only available in Canada and Australia.
Has anyone tried tried with it with success? It doesn't appear to be as strong as Nardil or Parnate which has me worried. I have such a debilitating depression that I fear it will not break it.
Please any feedback would be greatly appreciated.

Moclobemide is a weak antidepressant. Don't be suprised if you don't get the effect you expect. Have you tried Parnate? What were the side effects you experienced with Nardil? Maybe some augmentation is needed in order to counteract your side effects?

Oh I hope you can help me!
I was on Parnate for 2 years. But in the last half year or so it really has not been working. I added Adderall XR and that seemed to help for a bit but then it stopped.
So I am on Nardil. But it is lowering my BP so much that I am dizzy all the time. And I am soooo tired even though I am still taking the Adderall.
It's 6 pm right now and I have to leave to go home and I don't know where I will get the energy from to do so..Can you offer any advice?

For low blood pressure, your doctor can prescribe a drug called Florinef. Many people on Nardil have the same problem. The tiredness might be from the low blood pressure itself. However, I found Nardil somewhat sedating during the first few weeks. This disappeared and was replaced by stimulation.

Where are you situated? If you're in the U.S., you won't be able to get Moclobemide. If you can get it, I wish you luck. People have had very mixed results with this AD, but nearly all agree that side-effects are minimal. I had HUGE problems with Moclobemide, so I'm afraid I can't be of much help.

I would try to increase Parnate dosage. Now I am on 30-40 mg for 1,5 year and it is still OK. Sometimes 10 mg makes a huge difference. It may be, that Adderal is your problem also if you loose you energy in the evenings when Adderal stops working.
I tried Moclobemide and it does not increase energy level in my case. Of course there may still be some people benefit from it.

I was at 80-100 mg a day. There is a 20 mg difference because depending on the time of the month I would lower the dosage so as not to go manic (3 days prior to full moon). So you can see I was on a high dosage.

I can get it, I live in Canada. Please, what were your problems with it. I need to know. I don't want to try it. I want to augment the Parnate.

Living in Thailand where Parnate is not available, I reasoned that the Moclobemide would probably suit me since I do well on a non-reversible MAOI inhibitor. Moclobemide is a reversible inhibitor (RIMA) so I figured that I stood a good chance of it helping me since the mechanism of action sounded similar. But in reality, the "classic" MAOIs and the RIMAs are very much different. After I started the Moclobemide, I had no side effects at all, but little by litle the depression returned. Even after increasing the dose, my depression and anxiety intensified to the point where I concluded that this stuff was like poison in my brain. My depression was so severe that I was virtually incapacitated. That stuff was horrible for me. At least one other poster had a similar experience--he did well on a non-reversible MAOI, but badly on Moclobemide.

I was taking 1200mg a day and felt like I was taking a placebo. No side effects, no relief of depression, social anxiety..
