I'm currently using Effexor XR 75mg/once a day. I would like to get off the medicine so my doctor is switching me to the tablet form--one 37.5mg and one 25mg = 62.5 mg./once a day
My questions are:
Has anyone switched from the XR (extended release of Effexor) to the tablets and were there any problems associated with doing this?Did you have to take the dosage twice in a day or just once a day?
I'm hoping by doing this I can taper much more gradually then with the capsules.
Thank you all.

>When I was tapering off of this medication I switched from the XR capsules to the regular tablets. I went from 75 mg. XR to 37.5 mg of the other. I took the 37.5 mg. only once a day. Then I tapered from there. I had no trouble doing this.
I never had any problems if I took Effexor XR a few hours late though so my experience might not be yours.
