LYRICA IN US APPROVED?

Posted by coplo on January 22, 2005, at 1:51:16

I found out that Lyrica (pregabalin) was approved in US on December 29th, 2004. I was wondering how long it will tkae until pharmacies have it. Has anyone gotten it prescribed and bought it at a pharmacy in US?
If so, also let us know if you were taking it for anxiety, what dose and if it helped or not.
THanks
jc

It helps only at very high doses 600+ for me at least. It is like a super neurontin. Def works for all anxiety probs. Similar to GHB. It was just slapped a controlled substance label by the FDA .....

Probably because it makes you feel elated similar to XTC.

Yes i got my doctor to order it from the UK. It worked GREAT for a long time but the main side effects were RAPID weight gain and unfotunately, over 4 months use, at high doses 600-2000mg, it lost its effectiveness. I started it again, and it worked like before though, so, it seems you just need to take drug holidays.

No withdrawl effects for me. Check out all my previous posts under my old name jlbl2l about Lyrica. It isnt yet in pharms, but should be soon. It is avil in Europe.

I have never tried Lyrica although I really want to!

Lunesta's experience is certainly quite encouraging.

Unfortunaly I have read about others experiences, and they did not report any mood elevation from it.
Perhapse they were on to low a dose.

Its really frustrating because I live in the UK, were it has been available for months.
I'm desperate to find something to help my Social Anxiety, but I'm begining to lose hope.

I'm going to try Lyrica soon. Howver, it depends on what sort of anxiety you have and there are actually different subtypes of social anxiety alone. I'm not looking to feel elated off it. I would like the same that i am getting from klonopin-clonazepam - just take the edge off things. I m already pretty eleated as it is... :)
i just need something to calm my elated nervousness down, so then i can be energetic, productive and unfraid to try new things, talk to ppl etc...
good luck to you
