Celexa and low blood pressure?

Posted by ghuber on January 17, 2005, at 20:52:59

I've been on a very small dosage of Celexa for about 8 weeks now. Sometimes I feel a little dizzy, my vision gets a tad blurry and my head always feels like it has pressure inside of it. I think this maybe due to my low BP - It typically now runs from about 95/60 to 100/65 when I am resting, seated in chair. It use to be in the normal range of 120/80. My pulse is typically normal at 70-80bpm. Has anyone ever experienced this? What did you do? I am reluctant to go up in dosage because of this, and don't want to take Xanax when I am anxious because I fear it will drop my BP lower and may make me faint. Should I stop taking the med? My doc suggested I switch to Cytmbalta, but I am relucant to do that too, mainly because this meds scare me because they give me severe anxiety and panic attacks when I first start taking them. (Even tiny tiny dosages - I'm on 2mg of Celexa right now!)

Oh and one more thing -- I used Celexa two years ago for a year and I didn't have any problems!

Did you switch to a generic or lexapro this time around?
