WELLBUTRIN and SP.....any success stories???

Posted by Jasmine on September 8, 2004, at 17:41:37

I was just wondering if there were any people out there who have successfully controlled their social anxiety by using Wellbutrin? I'm sure there must be a few out there, but reading through the archives here, it seems like it hasn't been too successful in that regard.

I'm desperately trying to find other options before returning to Paxil which is my very last resort due to the sexual side effects. I've tried everything under the sun and I may just have to try Serzone + a stimulant if it's still available in the U.S.

Has anybody at all had even the slightest success story about Wellbutrin and SP??? I'm keepin' my fingers crossed :)

Oh yeah and I forgot to mention that at the moment I'm taking 20mg of Ritalin 3x a day and it doesn't cause me the slightest bit of nervousness or exaggerate my anxiety at all. Does this mean that perhaps Wellbutrin would be the same way or is it more stimulating than Ritalin?

Jasmine,

My problem is dysthimia and anxiety.

I was on Wellbutrin alone and this caused me VERY HIGH anxiety for 1 month when I stopped it.

I was on Ritalin too. Ritalin 10mg and Clonazepam 0.5mg twice a day. I was some better, but still not feeling well.

I also tryed many other medications due to SSRI/SNRI sexual dysfunction. I finally realized that these are the only medications that work for me.

Now, I am trying Lexapro with Wellbutrin (7 days on it). I donīt feel the nervousness I had with Wellbutrin alone, but I am experiencing side-effects (lack of air (breathless?) is the worst). I also lost the good feeling I had on Lexapro. Nothing changed in sex yet. My doctor told me today to wait more time, even it is hard to deal with. I will wait one more week.

Hope it helps!
