It usually goes away after a couple of weeks. It worths to give it a real try. You might add temporarily a benzo such as Klonopin or Xanax.

Hi,

How many milligrams are you taking. Experiecing any other side effects. Could the nervoursness be somatic? Hope it helps; I know a ton of people who get great results from it.

it could ahve been somatic, I also have generalized anxiety as it is... I was on 300 MGS. I called my PDOC and whined, told her I want back on anti-convulsants... I'm sure she was pleased to hear from me on this fine weekend.. however, I've decided to try agian to see what happens and I took another one tonight. I also felt feverish on it. I wish I wasn't such a baby about it...

Tried it again last night, ended up staying up until 6 AM and then flying out of bed at 10 AM. I'm fine now, but I just don't think the Lithium is good for me... besides I'm rapid cycling and some of my episodes are mixed, so I'd prefer an antoconvulsant to help me with that. The activiating stuff just does not help me out much.

Hi:
If you have 'rapid cycler,' then 'Depakote' is one of VERY first-lined mood-stabilizer.
As you already knew this, ... Depakote has some 'bad side-effect,' such as *bit* weight-gain/food crave, sleepiness and list goes on. But, if you want to get it stabilized, you may need to think 'plus' and 'minus' ... pros and cons. In my case, a *lot* of 'biking' and 'walking'(also, plenty of walk) around the river-front DID help me NOT gain a pound. Thanksfully, I didn't gain weight at all on Depakote.

Hopefully, this med., above, 'Depakote' does not give you too much 'headaches.'
H.G.

Hi HP,
Thanks for your post. I'm thinking about trying Lamictal /w Neurontin or topamax /w Neurontin as they have also been indicated for BP II /w rapid cycling. Topamax and Lamictal can be activating though so I'm hoping the neurontin will help with that. Depakote is still an otpion of course, ugh, I miss my trileptal.
