Thyroid hormone and loss of hair .... experiences

Posted by Tepiaca on September 4, 2004, at 22:06:25

Hello...
I have been losing an incredible quantity of hair in all my body ,mainly in my head .
I lose very easy all the hair to the point that I can even see a hole abow my ears in both sides of my head . This is rare , this is the part of the head where we supossed to have the strongest hair

I take Nardil 60mg and klonopin .5mg at night . None of this drugs seem to have these side effects

No one in my family is bold . So I think there must be something wrong with me.

I wonder is this could be related to the thiroid hormone ?
does somebody has suffered this problem ????

Hair loss is more commonly a symptom of hyperthyroidism, but it can occur in hypothyroidism as well. Is there any reason you chose thyroid function to focus on? You might be right.

Do either of these fit your experience?

Hi scott , this is gonna sound stupid but in fact
I was diagnosticated with hypothiroidism 3 years ago.
I think this was caused by the Zyprexa . I had a thyroid study and my levels were a little low
The when I stopped taking the zyprexa I had another test and my levels were almost normal but still low .
My doctor gave me medicine one year ago , but I stop taking it because I did not feel any change in my mood
So Im not taking anything , and I have not make me a test since that time.

what do you think scott???
