Hi all,
I'm taking Neurontin, 600mg, 3x daily. I can't seem to find out the length of its half-life...So far my assumption is that it's kind of in between a benzo and an SSRI ....I thought this because it takes a while to get fully into your system and work....but at the same time some have said it's a good drug to have "when needed"...(like benzos)..
For example if I miss a dose, will it completely go away, or remain mostly in my system...I'm confused! Which is it? or is it neither? Could somebody please explain this to me? Thanks so much.

Thanks so much. The half-life of Neurontin is 5-7 hours. This is pretty short. Here is what is recommended if you miss a dose:
http://www.nlm.nih.gov/medlineplus/druginfo/uspdi/202732.html
"If you miss a dose of this medicine, take it as soon as possible. However, if it is less than 4 hours until your next dose, do not take the missed dose and return to your regular dosing schedule. Do not allow more than 12 hours to go by between doses."
If it were me, I would simply take the missed dose as soon as possible and wait a minimum of 4 hours and take the next dose to catch-up. You really can't overdose from taking Neurontin, but if you double-up on doses, you might feel pretty weird. You can get away with a missed dose without being affected too much. It won't all disappear.
