>24 hours hopefully. The drug has a very short half life of a few hours in it's original IM tablet. The granules in the XR capsule are supposed to disolve slowly as it progresses through your intestines.

I'm actually wanting to know how long a person can expect tocontinue to get results from Effexor XR. I have been on it for approx. three years now. Is it going to work forever?
