hi, bps!

ginkgo is supposed to be the absolute best! i haven't tried it yet, but this is what i would take (if i was going to stay on my ssri, which i'm not :)).

it may magnify the effect of your ssri a bit, so you may want to look into reducing your ssri dosage a tad first for a few weeks.

good luck!
amy :)

Ginko was of little help. L-Arginine helps much better!

I was taking yohimbine before. It didn´t help!

I am also looking for something to help with SSRIs sexual problems. I have a list of possible solutions I have seen in previous posts here in Psycho Babble. Some people say nothing worked, others say Wellbutrin or Gingko Biloba may work.. Yohimbine, Ritalin, Remeron, even Claritin... But unfortunatelly, I have never seen anything concrete about this, like a person saying: "I had sexual dysfunction because I was taking a SSRI, I started to take X and it solved my sexual problems".

I think if there was something really working, everybody would know it. What do you think?

Good luck!!

Could you be more specific, please? How do they help you?

Thank you!

L-Arginine helps with blood flow to penis. Don't know if it works for women. Did not help libido or anorgasmia but helped stay more confident by getting rid of some of the lack of sensation from ssri meds. Not life changing, but noticible life in penis!

Hello btnd! I know loratadine as Claritin. My brother uses it for allergic rhinitis. Are you a man or a woman? How does it help you?

Take a look at my recent reply to KXo - it addresses the same subject. Hope it helps.

As a man living in Canada i can tell you that Loratadine is sold as Claritin. I'm taking the regular Claritin 24 hours (10 mg of Loratadine) without pseudoephedrine.

Okay, to be a little bit more technical (smile) my libido came back first (24 hours) and my hability to have a normal (quick and powerful) ejaculation returned within 3 days.

Moreover, as **personal satisfaction**, if you want to be better than normal in the sexual department, then take some L-Arginine (an amino acid), you're going to have a very engorged clitoris or a more than firm erection. L-Arginine is better than Ginkgo Biloba.

You know now than SSRIs sexual side effects can be defeated.

Good luck!

Claritin? This certainly sounds interesting! Especially if it works on libido and not just the plumbing. I'm curious about how this might work. Has anyone else tried it or noticed this effect?

It is nice to know your good experience, Maximus!!! It seems great to take loratadine once daily along with the SSRI and be rid of SSEs!! :)

I searched the internet about this combination, but I couldn´t find anything besides an old post here in Psycho-Babble. Are you allergic? How did you find it? Does it help you with the sensation/feel in the penis too?

In another site, I found a text that says "Fluoxetine or Sertraline combined with Loratadine may increase plasma levels of the non-sedating antihistamine loratadine". So, what SSRI are you taking? I just got back to a SSRI (I am on Lexapro now).

By now, I don´t need to be better than normal. I would be satisfied with near normal sex. But thank you for the information about L-Arginine. It may be useful after I solve the fist problem. :) hehehe

Yes!

I'm taking Effexor XR at 150 mg. I found the same information on the net, specifically on the newsgroups.

Ya i know Lex. It is another SSRI wannabe. The side effects depend also of the dose.

Cymbalta, a SNRI, has the least sexual side effects. It is probably the ultimate solution if you're living in the States. Here in Canada, i can't wait. But we all know it will take an eternity to be approved here.

Good luck!
