What med super-charged you?

Posted by waki on August 22, 2004, at 22:30:53

I think it would be interesting to see a list of meds that gave everyone energy.

Perhaps if you have a moment list what med "fired you up."

Mine was wellbutrin xr

Believe it or not, when I added Neurontin to my Effexor, I felt like I'd had a hit of speed. (Effexor 37.5 mg/day, Neurontin 300mg bid and 2 at night, Klonopin .5mg in am and 1mg at night.

What gives?

Efexor XR definately pulled me out of a slump but didn't super fire or anything. Only thing ever to do that was appetite suppressants and that was before I became immune to them!

Well this is disapointing. Effexor did nothing for me. I was hoping to find another Breakfast of Champions as Mr. Backer described.

Regular Effexor definatley supercharged me. Then I switched to XR and I feel much calmer, more balanced. It was wierd- when I first started reg Effexor, the tablet, half in the morning and half at night, I felt high and numb, deliriously happy yet calm. Then I crashed two weeks later after a wicked panic attack and had a spell of depression with alot of crying. I switched to XR and now I feel normal. I don't even feel like I'm on meds, except for the fact to do feel a little calmer, and not so irritable or depressed. I am having very vivid dreams too, not scary, but rather interesting really. I really can't have caffeine either. After one cup of tea, I get a panic attack. I think the XR really makes a difference because it slowly releases it throughout the day, whereas with the table it's an immediate fast release, so you get the ups and downs each time you take it.
