Does anyone know of a good stimulant that works with Lexapro? I'm taking a generic Ritalin but after two hours of it, it makes me angry. I would like a stimulant that doesn't cause me to be angry.. I'm quite content and even minded while I'm not using it. I just need something to keep me awake during the day. My doctor is trying to get Provigil approved , but my insurance company is denying it. Any suggestions?

I think you will see many people having success with Adderall. It tends to be "smoother" than Ritalin, and I don't see people complain about irritability or anger.
Why do you need a stimulant?

COFFEE!!! or soft drinks w/caffeine. I take Lex only, and have to fight off the lethargies....coffee is great!!!~~~8|8

Have you tried the single daily dose (ie long acting) version of Ritalin or Adderall? Hopefully the Provigil will be approved for you.
I take 30 mg Lexapro for anxiety and depression, and 120 mg Strattera for better focus. For tiredness, I take a 200 mg caffeine pill each morning (NoDoz), and several sodas with caffeine or tea.

If lex is making you tired, take your dose at night. how long have you been taking it?
coffee is a great kicker :)

Thank you for replying. I don't care for coffee in the evening. I do drink it in the morning. I usually take my dose at night. My doctor has recently labeled me with refractory depression.
I will keep trying for the insurance approval.

I'm not sure if my last post went through. It's interesting that you mentioned Aderal. I've just been reading about that one. I just didn't get the chance to talk to my doctor about it. I'm going to try for the Provigil with the insurance first.

I also take the generic ritalin. I have tried the extended release Ritalin, but I was not able to sleep at night. I went back to the regular.

I take Concerta w/ my Lexapro. I take the Lex at night and Gabatril too.
