I went to get my prescription of my mirtazipan today (remeron) and the pharmasist said that they are discontinuing it and i had the last box i got 4 weeks supply then thats it... he said there is a new med out simular to it and it disolves on the tongue but it isnt mirtazipan? advice? help? wat do i do?

The Remeron I take here in the states disolves on the tongue.

I think she must have been confused. Ask around at other phamacies. I think she was talknig about remeron SolTAb, a disolvable version of remeron.

You are correct... remeron soltab phewww i was so worried then... comes in 15 30 and 45 mg strengths... so i will have a prescription for 30mg.. but if i were to wean of it i would have to get another prescription of 15mg but i would have to finish the prescription of 30mg first as the doc's wont give u 2 prescriptions for the same medication within 4 weeks... pheww pheww i am quite looking forward to it..

I'm in the uk on mirtazipine. They said that they have disconitnued Remeron altogether to me, and gave me Zispin (the same drug, different brand) - it has a shorter half life though, so I might start getting withdrawal effects prior to each dose.
I'm stopping mirtazipine because of the weight gain anyway, so it doesn't really affect me, but thought I'd let you know what they told me!

mirtazipan is the brand name and zizpin is the actual name other name is remeron... same drug... i also want to stop it cus of the weight gain, i not sure what i will do though cus i cant get on with anything else..

Mirtazapine is the chemical name. The brand name by Organon is Remeron (U.S.) and Zispin (U.K.).

Organon are discontinuing Zispin Tablets 30mg from the end of May and are replacing them with Zispin Soltabs (orodisperible tablets). The two products are bioequivalent.Some wholesalers are already reporting that they have exhausted their stocks of Zispin Tablets but it is likely that some of the generic manufacturers will be launching generic Mirtazapine 30mg Tablets later this year.

Could you not cut them in half to go down to 15mg?
