Lexapro dosage question

Posted by Ravencamp on June 8, 2004, at 11:26:21

Hello,

I have been on Lexapro for about 6 months now for anxiety (extreme Type A personality), and it has worked wonders for me with very little side effects. I am currently on 20 mg per day.

However, I am getting married in 11 days (YEAH!), while also being considered for a promotion at work. Consequently, I have more stress now than ever before. I was wondering if it would be safe to up my dosage of Lexapro to about 30 mg per day just for the next couple of weeks until I get through this time.

If I did this, would it be safe then to just go back to my regular 20mg per day?

Thanks so much for your input.

I'm currently at 30mg. I went from 20 to 30 with no se's. Pdoc told me I could go up on dose around *that time of the month* and cut back when things settled down. I would think you should be ok, but as always, you should discuss w/dr.

Congratulations and Good Luck!!!~~~8|8
