More good news

Just wanted to remind people that it IS possible to get better! Took me 2 years of research but I am doing AWESOME (read: lots of girlfriends, on way to becoming millionaire) .... only taking 2 mg of aripiprazole (though required trip to states), 30 mg parnate, and 20 mg ritalin SR tid ... + lorazepam 2 mg + clonazepam 2mg tid ....

no noticeable side effects... feel really good ...

don't give up guys! i certainly had to keep pushing for better doctors, then finally make the decision to try out aripiprazole for myself (abilify)
diagnosis: bipolar 1 not too bad (at least the hypomanias) + anxiety really bad + ADD really bad

Hi there, I'm about to start up Parnate. I also have some Abilify lying around. I was curious as to why you added abilify to the parnate you are taking. What exactly does it help with that the Parnate doesn't touch? Also, is it really necessary to take my Parnate 3x/day or could I take it in one or two doses? Thanks a lot, this is going to be my first time on a maoi... after trying about every med there is for my social anxiety, depression, ocd, add, etc.

> Hi there, I'm about to start up Parnate. I also have some Abilify lying around. I was curious as to why you added abilify to the parnate you are taking. What exactly does it

i was originally taking zyprexa 2.5 mg for mood stability but thought it was probably contributing to my ADD and also it has a tendancy to make me want to sit still whereas abilify tends to make me want to do things

>help with that the Parnate doesn't touch?

I don't know... I am only taking abilify because I am bipolar. It *might* help with motivation. It also prevents (in my case) parnate induced insomnia, which is strange because on it's own it tended to cause insomnia. so if i didn't take abilify i imagine i would go hypomanic or the stimulants (ritalin) would make me go into a psychotic state

>Also, is it really necessary to take my Parnate 3x/day or could I take it in one or two doses?

Okay this most likely depends on the person... but starting up I definately would not recommend doing anything rash. Divide the doses... then bring them closer together if there are no major side effects (and your doctor says it's okay). Personally I like to take them in divided doses because they give me an instant mood boost after each dose and i'd rather have 3 mood boosts a day then just one big one and i also speculate (and here I really don't know it is just a guess) that it might be better for side effects (in my case i have always had bad acne, parnate probably makes it just a little worse, but i would never think of quitting just because of it)

i hope it works for you dude.. and was glad i could help ...
