I tried gabatril? and I felt that it made me hyper. I am anxiety and depression but suspect it could be bp 2 because at first , Lamactil made me feel "normal" not agitated like usual. Anyway, what other meds can I do besides lamactil or gabatril(tiagibine)? Also, can I take something to wean off of Klonopin? Tegretol says it is for weaning off benzos. Go ahead and email at owen32ny@yahoo.com, please. :)

chemist here....bad call on the tegretol weaning you off of benzos....i had a very successful run with trileptal, which is not an inducer of CYP450 and the epoxide intermediate (on the way to the monohydroxy derivative, which is actually the active metabolite of both tegretol and trleptal) is not present, as trileptal is metabolized by aryl ketone reductase, and goes straight to the MHD...thus, no liver-function tests, and fewer side-effects. there is a cross-sensitivity between tegretol and trileptal of about 30%, but most of the trials have been conducted with pediatric patients, whom would presumably be more sensative to negative effects....back to the heart of the matter: tegretol - nor trileptal - will wean you from benzos/xanax....please remain in contact, surfing popular lterature at the drug store is not the way to proceed in matters this serious...all the best, chemist
