I started taking Zoloft a few months ago. I'm currently at 250mg. I have absolutely no side effects *except* the complete disappearance of my sex-drive. I am considering switching to another SSRI because of this. Which of the SSRIs is the worst for libido and which are the best?

It says that Zoloft has worst male sexual dysfunction. But doesnt say which has least.

If I'm lucky, perhaps my libido will increase as the depression lifts. Depression pretty much wiped it out to begin with.

Wellbutrin also seems like a popular choice to go with SSRI's. I'd like to try it, but can't get it here.
I saw recently on this board a female using a drug(name escapes me) that was a 5-HT1 antagonist that could be used PRN for anorgasmia. It's side effects was short term depression.

I have been on zoloft, prozac, and lexapro. Lexapro was the worst for anorgasm and lack of sex drive for me.

Paxil is the worst I've experienced followed by Zoloft. Prozac actually helped.

Zoloft had the most side effects for me. Prozac was more helpful for the major depression and Lexapro is more helpful for anxiety. Prozac is the easiest to stop taking due to its long half life. Lexapro tops it for the worst sexual side effects for me.:(

Prozac wiped out my sex drive permanently. I first started taking it in 1992. Back then, it wasn't common knowledge that SSRIs caused sexual dysfunction. I didn't make the connection for several years. When I finally figured it out, I quit Prozac but my sex drive didn't return.
In the past, I took Trazodone which didn't cause any sexual problems and worked well. I only switched because I thought Trazodone might be causing my weight gain. Turns out I had thyroid disease.
Also, I've read that Wellbutrin has a lower incidence of sexual side effects and that Paxil has been rated the worst.

Yes, I will say from the SSRI's I had taken, Paxil was by far the worst concerning sexual dysfunction, followed by Zoloft. My experience with Prozac is that it improved my sexual performance, possibly due to lifting my depression and its stimulating effects. None of the SSRI's really worked for over 40% for my Atypical Depression, SAD and GAD. I never had relief until I found Nardil and Valium. Talk about sexual dysfunction, try Nardil, it is almost 100% effective as a birth control pill. No libido with this stuff I will assure you. With the new ineffective Nardil, my libido has returned along with all my other symptoms I take it for in the first place. Man, you just can't win for trying.
