Canadian pharmacies for meds?

Posted by dogchow on April 7, 2004, at 22:20:43

Does anyone use anyone of the numerous Canadian
Internet pharmacies to get their meds? Finally after many different problems with just about
every pharmaceutical cocktail (several years and several docs) my new doctor has done the impossible, I feel pretty sane. The problem is
Lamictal, been getting samples for a few months
but I have to start buying it. (she can't keep up
with my 200mg / day habit.) It is cheaper in generic form from Canada, but I am unsure about
doing this over the net with my credit card etc.
Any recommendations? Any place to avoid? Affordablerx.com is one of the cheapest.
Any info is appreciated!

look for a pharmacy watch group like drugbuyers.com -- Beware though and stick to canada and the US. Don't go after those obscure generics from Mexico or something like that. Take anything anyone says out there with a grain of salt because pharmacy owners probably try to influence people online through them.

i have never bought from Canada, but make sure your meds come in blister packs and original bottles. I see more reason to believe there is counterfeiting from overseas operations that specialize in controlled substances. viagara and steroids.

However, any drug can be counterfeited and anticonvulsants have definitely been.

Look for online articles about Canadian pharmacies from reputed news outlets {they will list the names of some phramacies like ones that have either been closed up or maybe have been doing well and are well established}, and don't go near one that doesn't care about prescriptions or does consultations over the phone or online.

Good luck!

Thanks PsychoSage,
All of the ones I looked at seem reputable, but
the internet can be a very deceptive place.
The main problem is finding
actual articles that rate or grade them. I am
pretty internet savvy, but the search engines pick
up the keywords from the banner ads on the sites,
or just plain bogus ad sites. The ones I have looked at send you the original 100 count sealed
bottles, thats a good thing. (and they dont sell narcotics, benzos etc.)
I just had a idea,
I might check the AARP site, I know alot of seinors get their meds north of the border.
If I find a good place, I will let everyone know.
It really bites not having med. insurance.

I manage a doctor's office with mostly elderly patients. They have had good luck with the Canadian pharmacies. I will try to find the name of the one alot of them use and post it ASAP.

There is a company called the American Drug Company in San Leandro California who imports in from Canada. That's all the info I have on them.

I have used saveoncanadianmeds.com to buy effexor twice. I personally thought they were excellent to deal with and were cheaper than anyone else (at least for effexor).
