Hello,
I think I might be suffering from lithium toxicity. My pdoc told me to look out for frequent urination and increased thirst, as well as tremors. I am suffering from the tremors or, at least shakiness, as well as the increased thirst and need to urinate but, as I pee a lot, it's hard to tell :) I am on a relatively low dose (900 mgs) as it's part of the cocktail I am taking for BP. My question is this: can I continue on the lithium? I really want to - my mind is acclimating really nicely, my moods have been nice and even, and it's even helping with my panic disorder. Is there anyone here that has gone, "toxic"? Are these just side effects that will diminish over time? Needless to say, "help"! Thanks,

These are side effects of the medication, not just toxicity symptoms. You are probably not suffering toxicity. I would promptly get a blood level done to see where you are at. These side effects are common and certainly no reason to discontinue the medication if it is working and you are happy with it.
