don't know if I'm over doing it with the meds. I'm on 20 mg of Celexa, and then I take 2mg of Ativan before i go to bed, and 2mg before I wake up. I really need the Ativan to relax me at night so I can sleep but sometimes it doesn't do the trick so I'm thinking about popping an over the counter sleeping pill with it. Is this a stupid move...or harmless? Just wondering. does anyone have any insight into this? thanks

Most of the OTC sleeping pills are antihistamines. I am not aware of any harm but I don't really know. Call a pharmacy and ask the pharmacist. They are very knowledgable and usually happy to help.

This may be a bit much, but who knows for you.
I have heard that drinking grapfruit juice before taking benzodiazapines can increase their potency. But yes, If you want the straight information ask a pharmacist. Or even tell your doctor that you're still not sleeping.

do you need the 2mg of ativan in the morning to function? if not take 3mg at night annd 1mg in the am. klonopin has a longer half life and might be a better choice to take once a day. what is your diagnosis?
take care, judy
