Goodbye Effexor. Never Again shall we meet :-)

Posted by Psychopoppy on January 30, 2004, at 2:39:59

I am finally OFFF...... its over !!I just wanted to share it :

{{{YYYYYYiiiiiiiPPPPPPPPeeeeeeeeeeeee}}}}

I"M FREEEEEEEE. No more meds for now...I want to detox for a while and return back to ME before I embark on any other trips. I want to remember who 'I' was au naturel, organic, bio, non-GM, whatever you want to call it !!

I feel human again. The withdrawal symptoms are completely gone. (well, maybe a little periodic fatigue lingers on).
Going off effexor seems to have elevated my mood now for some reason. Now that the yucky symptoms are gone, I feel less depressed than ever before, more active, more energized, requiring less sleep, interested to do things and get things done, and most importantly experience happiness........... unbelievable !!
I dont understand it. I thought meds are supposed to do all that but it seems that going off seems to have done it.
I cannot think of what could have happened. Did my serotonin/norepinephrine/dopamine levels just spontaneously decide to go up as a "thank you for liberating us from effexor" gift ???
Can't think of what neurochemical cascade could have been put into action after my body regained its ground from the temporary disabling (by withdrawing effexor) ?

Any theories ??

In any case, no guarantess how long this upwards wave is going to last and how bad the slump will be, if and when it returns..... I feel scared to believe that this might last long... it seems safer to assume the worst so that the blow is gentler if/when doom does return !

But for now, i'm gonna enjoy every minute of my new found freedom from hell !

Good wishes to all who read this :-)

i dunno, but for me the "crying because everything is just so gosh darn beautiful" has gotten a bit old. and i'm only been a couple weeks off the effexor. not to be a spoilsport, but i think the doctors refer to our rebounds as "manic"?

while i certainly enjoy and embrace the beauty in seeing the beauty in whatever, i still am not fooled into accepting this as some sort of enlightenment.

sign me.

So true ! I've learnt the hard way that jumping nose-first into anything only results in a broken face.

Thanks. I will take it easy.
