Buprenorphine herion withdraw side affects

Posted by sbaartman on January 28, 2004, at 8:50:18

Ok hope I get response gonna repost this since I did not get any response earlier, because I do not know what is happening to me. I was put on buprenorphine treatment for about the fourth time now. I have started to use again for about a month. but now when I try to return to the treatment I get severe nausea or more of a gal attack that does not seem to go away. I have tried to keep the hold as long as possible from my last heroin shot. And the last time was as much as 15 hours. Every time this happens I get so weak that I cannot even function probably after taking the bupe. WHAT IS HAPPENING?

I have never had to "withdraw" from opioids, nor have I ever been on "maintenance", but I have tried the ones listed - never IV, but still.

Keep in mind that everyone is different. Just because bupe is now an "official" agent to maintain heroin dependant fellows, it does not mean it will work on everyone.

I, for example ordered bupe, once, for my dog. Well, I took it myself, a few times, when I had severe pain and each and every time I had the same terrible headache that would make bupe an unacceptable means of therapy for about everything - even for pain.

Or Ritalin. When I take Ritalin I get depressed. How come? Well, everyone is different and an MD who "goes by the book" is a mechanic, in my opinion, if even that (he certainly is not the lead-mechanic).

Drop dupe from ur list of possibilities. This would be my advice (note: non-professional advice)
