Taking two antipsychotics together long term increases your risk of developing tardive dyskinesia. You can read more about it here:

Can you increase the dose of one or the other or is there another reason for taking both?

***** Yes there is a reason. I take Seroquel now and it works great to keep me from having paranoia & hallucinations however I have taken Geodon in the past but had to stop (akathisia). The Geodon was the BEST for me and I thought maybe taking a small dose would give me some of the good benefit and not the bad...so that leads me to my question.

I see...

I take 40 mg of Geodon now, but I'll probably have to go up to 80 mg. I sometimes take 2.5 mg of Zyprexa for sleep if the Geodon isn't enough, but that isn't often.

Too bad about the akathesia. I hate when a drug makes your head feel better but makes your body feel worse.

Good luck with your meds.
