Another question from this newbie....does anyone know if a combo SSRI and topamax can help OCD symptoms (which I have in a mild form, being much more tormented by the binge eating demon)???? I appreciate any insight. Thanks, Cyndie p.s. My Lexapro helps a little, but not alot.

Hi Cyndie -
I'll be watching this, because I have a few OCD symptoms. I just took my first Topamax tonight, and my doc is switching me from Depakote to Topamax completely in about three months. Right now I'm taking both.
One thing I can tell is about fifteen mintues after I took it, my shoulders and upper arms seemed calmer - like there was an invisible "interior" brace there, and they weren't shaking anymore. I have had a palsy-like shaking in my hands, which may be related to the Depakote. I just feel calmer, more relaxed. It's hard for me to sit still, like during yesterday's EEG - I nearly jumped out of the chair several times, and all I had to do was lay there.
But that's just the effect it's had on me, and for a very short time, too. I'm a newbie, too!
