No way!! It makes me happy.. But, the side effects can vary from person to person. You should give it some time for your body to adjust then decide if you would rather discontinue.. Just a suggestion.. OPersonally I love Topamax... It is my hero.. Good luck.. karen

Lucky you to have such a wonderful experience with Topamax!! I just feel like my mind cannot process one more thing through it and I'm irritable does that make sense? Could be totally unrelated to the topamax. Which I hope it is.
Thanks,
Nissy

Funny you say it is your hero. I just went to 75 mg and I know it is way early into it. However, as you can read in my other post on Topamax, I have had good experience. I can say it has been my hero as well, so far.

Maybe things will change, I hope not. I can probably dedicate that Bette Midler song "Wind Beneath My Wings" to Topamax.

Nissy - I am an irritable person anyhow. Even before Topamax, I often forgot to eat and my sugar level wld drop. I get cranky when I am hungry and not realise it. On 75mg, I have found it to make me a bit more irritable. I found that if I just keep myself hydrated and tummy not on empty, I am good.

Know what makes me irritable.....no, aangry and all sorry for myself???

The fact that at the end of the day, I think the only thing this drug has done for me is give me the tingles in my feet (very, very bad tingles) MAJOR headaches (sometimes where I can't get out of bed) and the fact that I don't think that even after almost 6 weeks I have seen much weight loss!
Oh, and have I mentioned the flu symptoms? Gee, maybe thta I why I, for one, feel more irritable.

I am so sorry for the rant.....
I am just so horribly disappointed, and yet I keep waiting for the day when I won't be able to eat for 3 at dinner!!!! sigh......
no mood stablization here, I am afraid, either, as you can tell by the tone of this post LOL.

Well, if anyone is interested, I just decided to stop the topamax. If anyone read my other posts, I have been sooooo disenchanted with it. For all others for whom this has not been the miracle we had hoped, it is not a crime to stop, I think.....

Tell me again what dosage and how long you have been on it. I am on 50 in the morning and at night and my pdoc just upped it to 75 for both yesturday. I haven't yet started the 75 because I know I will be stupid as a stick for a week and my hubby will be out of town this coming week and I will be home alone with the girls so I think I need my brain working correctly. My weight loss has been slow and I started to walk too. Also, my pdoc is slowly upping my dosage on this. I have hope it will kick in for me.
I am sorry to hear that you didn't see the results you were looking for.
Best of luck to you.
Nissy
