Lexapro or Zoloft, less sexual side effects?

Posted by Zeek on September 24, 2003, at 10:12:00

Ive been takeing Zoloft for about a year now for social anxiety disorder, and have been haveing whats been called here as anorgasmia, (not reaching climax during sex, or decrease in sex drive). My doctor decided to switch me to Lexapro, has anyone had a similiar problem, and is Lexapro any better?

I know exactly what you are talking about with the lack of sex drive and taking a while to climax. I explened that to my doctor, and plus I was getting to the point of being on zoloft for almost 1 1/2 years for depression and anxeity that it started not working well for me, so she started to whim me of the zoloft and put me on wellbuterion for the depression. Once being on that for 1 1/2 months she then put me on buspar for the anxeity with the WB i did not notice a difference, except I did notice that my sex drive was comming back to me..When I went back to the doctors, I explained to her that the anxeity part was still there, so thats when she put me on lexapro. I have now been on it for 8 days. I have not expierenced any side effects with it though im on 10mg once a day plus the WB 300mg . I am going to stay on the lexapro for a while and see where it takes me.. I have heard very good things about it, so its worth a shot. It has been said it takes a while for it to work.

I had the same issue with Effexor and Prozac. I've found that my drive is not as deceased on Lexapro but it's different for everyone. Good luck!
