From the New York Times article,
They also said that Paxil has not proved effective against depression in children and teenagers.
For those that Paxil has been a good med, was it primarily to treat depression or for Anxiety?Susan

I used it for several years for panic disorder. I believe it is the only SSRI officially endorsed for this. It worked amazingly, but wore out about a year ago.

I took Paxil for many years for depression before it pooped out; I was also taking Klonopin (still do) for anxiety - that combo was effective for a long time.
