new to lexafor

Posted by allbetter on May 30, 2003, at 22:56:11

Hi, I am new to P.B. and I was just switched to lexafor today. I have been on zoloft and went down hill since I have been on it. suicidal thoughts and severe postpartum depression. I have had no side effects with the zoloft or prozac (prior to zoloft). The side effects of lexafor sound horrible. Any advice would be appreciated.

i'm betting that you might have meant "lexapro",instead of "lexafor" ..... maybe?

well, it's the kind of mistake i make And If you did mean "lexapro", there's a lex thread that starts at :

"Anyone switched to Lexapro? « ggrrl Dr. Bob 6/11/02"
http://www.dr-bob.org/babble/20020609/msgs/109458.html

or even the last several weeks of the thread has posts that contain a lot of information.

short version:
1 lex has initial adaptation SEs
2 eventually they all go away ....usually
3 1 is different for everybody
4 2 is different for everybody
5 got to do 1 to find out about 2
6 individual variation is incredible

i am impressed that you had no SEs with prozac and zoloft .... i would not begin to try to guess what that may indicate about your possible SEs with lexapro.

lexapro has been good for me ..... i hope it can help you .... i hope i've helped you ...

when i read that you've suffered suicidial thoughts and postpartum depression, i want to know that you have support for your protection (and your child(ren)'s in case of a crisis..... do you have family support? .... i take it that you have a pdoc, right? ....

i am concerned for you... please continue to post here, especially if it can bring you comfort .... there's a lot of support here .... these people helped me, so i try to help other posters here now.

TAKE CARE !!!!
~ jim
