I'm wondering if taking Lexapro at bedtime is better than taking it in the morning??

I started off taking Lex in the morning and found I was FALLING ASLEEP around 7PM. Switched to 2-3PM and now I fall asleep around 11PM (usual bedtime). It has worked out much better for me to take in the afternoon.

You can always try.....switch back if it doesn't work.

I agree with Mariposa. Trial and error. When I started Lexapro it made me tired. But it's not much of a problem any more.

I take it at night. I first started taking it in the morning but I was fighting nausea. I switched to night and still fight nausea. I do not believe that the Lex is now causing the Nausea. It comes and goes and as I mentally feel better it goes away. My Psy.Doc tells me what ever works for me. So I just have stuck with the nights. Play around with the time it won't hurt.
Good luck Tim!

I've only been on Lexapro about a month. I started by taking it in the morning, but it made me verrrrry reeelaaaaaxed--and not in a good, productive way. I was just too spaced out during my work hours, and the nausea was bad.

Now I take it after dinner, at about 7:00p.m. This has worked out much better, as I sleep through the strongest side-effects. However, I sweat 24/7. Anyway, taking it in the evening with food seemed to be the key for me. As others said, you need to try different times and see what your body responds to the best.

I take it around 7pm for the same reasons - and taking it with food does help. I've been on Lex for a couple months now, and the sweating has decreased.
