After being off of Effexor for several months because I didn't think I needed it again, I've re-started it last Saturday because my depression has returned.
I'm taking 37.5mg/day at this point. About 1 hour after I take the pill I start having tremors and feel really jittery like my skin is crawling, almost like I don't belong in my own skin. It's hard to explain. When I used to be on it, I went through side effects at each dose change but they usually disappeared after a couple of weeks.
Is it ok for me to take Xanax .25mg to combat the skin crawling feelings????? I can't stand this!!!

Thats what I do, when I encounter these issues with Effexor.

thats crazy,i just put up a post the exact same! ive just started efexor and it makes me so sick,i was walking through town retching it was that bad,i was so embarresed!and yeah i get the really odd feeling of shiver all over like headrushes. and spaced out,my pupils are huge like im on yokes!a friend of mine who took cipramil said he took xanax at the same time and it counteracted stuff,i might try it later!

I don't have any of the side effects you are experiencing and I pretty much know what to expect from Effexor because I've been on it before, however I don't recall having this creepy crawly skin sensations. I just came off of Effexor a few months ago but unfortunately my depression is starting to come back and I want to nip it in the bud before it gets bad. If my body reacts the same as it did the last time I was on it, these side effects eventually go away, at least that's what I'm hoping. Good luck with yours and maybe the Xanax will help you. I'm going to try it myself. :)

i tried it last night,and it was cool,i was really queasy all day,but after i took the half a xanax,it totally went away!fab.i was naughty today,though,didnt take my efexor(see im just after starting it)cos i couldnt hack the SEs,but im gonna have to take it tommorrow!
hope you got rid of the crawly skin feelings.
