Hi, I'm Dane, 19 years of age. I have just been put on Efexor Xr two days ago and keep getting nausea and vertigo. I have been told this will go away, but i am extremely scared to take the drug. People have told me that they weren't really themselves whilst on the drug and that scares the hell out of me because i don't want to change, nor do i want to be totally emotionless. Please could someone email me and tell me what anti-depressants, specifically efexor are like, what I'm going to encounter and how its going to effect my life..... thanking whoever in advance

Hi! I've been on and off Effexor for 4 yrs now and it is the only thing that has effectively worked on my depression. Tried Zoloft, Prozac, Serzone, Wellbutrin, Lithium, and Pamelor. Also, Aderall, as I'm ADD too. Only the Effexor works for me. Yes, the dizziness and nausea diminish in time, for me a short time, a week, tops.
What doseage are you on? I started at 50mg, went up to 225mg, but am back down to 100mg, as I felt too apathetic and had no motivation whatsoever at the higher dose.
