Serzone/ Alcohol

Posted by chez on May 16, 2003, at 16:49:47

I am new to this and have a couple of questions. My dr. is switching my meds ( for anxiety & panic) from Effexor to Serzone. I was curious if anyone could tell me their experience w/ Serzone and alcohol. I drink a bottle of wine 5-6 nights a week. I didn't have a problem with Effexor and alcohol (actually, unfortunately, it allowed me to drink more and not feel "hungover").I do not want to make the switch until I have some knowledge of others reactions so that I could have some idea what to expect. I am planning on curtailing the wine habit.
Thank you!

I hate to promote alcohol on any front, but what I can give you are perhaps my own bad choices? and experiences with them
I started on Serzone three weeks ago and I seem to be drinking more (two glasses of wine 5-6x per week). So far my body is still intact, but I can't imagine it's good for the liver w/ all the meds its got to process. On the whole, I know I need tocurb the drinking, but it's hard....
I also work in an envirnoment where wine is all around.
I have been experiencing something like "hypomania" so far on Serzone. I'm wondering if the increased drinking is part of that. and when I do drink now, i get more "loose" in my emotions; sadder, more irritable, more emotional in general. Wonder why I do it at all? Ah, we humans like to tie ourselves in knots.
so there's my experience.
