Edgefield?

Posted by Greg on May 1, 2003, at 18:29:12

Hi Edgefield,

We had discussed a short time back using Topamax as a mood stabilizer. You had said at that time that you would talk it over with your doctor at your next visit. I was just curious if you've had the chance to do that, and if so, how it went? I don't get to this board as often as I should.

I hope this finds you doing as well as possible and I'm wishing you all the best!

Greg

Hello Greg, thanks for your concern. I did meet with my dr. but she doesn't want to prescribe anything new for a couple of weeks. I was taking only 5mg of Fluoxetine and .5mg Ativan twice daily. She wants me to increase the Fluoxetine to 10mg and remain on the Ativan for a couple more weeks. We did discuss Anafranil, Celexa, Provigil, and Wellbutrin as some options. I plan to give this combo. another week. She seems to be leaning towards Provigil. She spoke highly of Wellbutrin, but she was concerned that it might increase my anxiety. I think she felt more comfortable with the Wellbutrin to help with my dopamine over the Mirapex or Topomax. I just know that I need something to lift my mood and eliminate this spacey feeling (derealization). I know that the Lord will deliver me!

God Bless
Edgefield
