ABILIFY

It seems like a lot of people are interested in the medication Abilify. Well it is the newest medciation out for schizophrenia, bipolar and some other mental illnesses.

The side efffects of Abilify varies from individual to individual. So you can't think that what may affect one person is going to affect another. It all depends upon the person, their system to medications and so for.

As many of you know I have posted to this site now for a little while and I have been sharing with all of you regarding my daughter's progress on Abilify.

My daughter has a very sensative system to medications period. So how it affects her and the side affects she experiences is going to differ from the side affects someone else may experience.

Now these are the ones she has experienced:

1) insomnia
2) anxiety
3) irritability
4) breakage of hair

Number 4 is really something becaue we find out that about 1% of anyone on Abilify well have this. Her pschiatrist was amazed when finding out this information. But again what one may person may experience may be different than what someone else experiences.

I do know that she is much more alert being on the abilify than she was with any other anti-psychotic medication. This is good. It does take time(at least for my daughter) for the medication to work. She now is expressing things and communicating like she never did before and that is like a miracle for us. Whereas before it was difficult for her to do that.

Well that is what I have found out with Abilify regarding my daughter. I do hope that this has been helpful for those who are on Abilify, for those who are going on Abilify and for those who have love ones who are on Abilify.

I well be sharing with you on how my daughter is doing on it. God Bless

really apprciate your sharing(nm)

I don't mean to sound like a *commercial* for Abilify, but I have heard wonderful things about this med, especially that it has a low side-effect profile. I know someone who switched from Zyprexa to Abilify but have not heard from her in awhile so I don't know how the switch went.
