Just wondering about this as today is, I believe, my ninth day on 20mg, after six days on 10mg. Next Tuesday I raise it to 30mg, and two weeks later to 40mg. Yet I read in the monograph that 20mg has not been shown significantly more effective than 10mg. Naturally I'd assume that something must have skewed the results of those trials, but what are people finding is the real deal with higher doses of Lex? I'm having no side effects thusfar, and believe me, for an SSRI that's a major improvement for me! TIA

ohhh my goodness, i totally feel the difference night and day between 10 mgs and 20 mgs of lexapro - 20 mgs actually flickered a light at the end of the tunnel, and it took away the severe sleepiness too!

I am at week 11 or 12 on 10mg Lex. First 4 weeks I took 5mg. Missed yesterday and got really grouchy. Have been noticing in the last week or so, am getting more grouchy and bitchy than I have been since starting Lex. Is it starting to "poop out" on me? Should I try 12.5mg or even 15mg? Any suggestions or input would be greatly appreciated. Thanks everyone and GOOD LUCK TO US ALL!!

Trust your own reaction to the drug--the drug companies tend to present their data in a rosy fashion.
In my experience, I had few side effects other than fatigue/tiredness. I went to 15 and got sexual side effects, more tiredness. 20mg had much more of these effects. I did notice that 15 and 20mg worked better on my depression than did 10mg.

Thanks for the input, Matt. How were you able to deal w/increased tiredness? I don't feel too bad now, and think I would be willing to feel a little more tired and be less of a BITCH! It seems to be a good trade off for my personal situation. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
