I have just started taking remerol for depression and sleep problems. I have been very edgy of late and was wondering if irritability and breaking out into tears for no reason could be side effects or more of the depression rearing its ugly head. Has anyone out there had a similar experience? I would love to hear your experiences with remerol. Paxil and Wellbutrin did not make me sleep. The remerol does seem to make me sleep yet I am so cranky! Please help!

Well, I assume from the content of your post you're taking Remeron, and not Demerol. :-)
Remeron didn't do a think for me personally, depression/anxiety-wise. It *was* great for sleep, but not any better than trazodone or Elavil. You mentioned you tried Paxil and Wellbutrin but they didn't help you sleep-- did they help the depression otherwise? If so, you'd surely be best off going back to what worked for the depression and taking trazodone or Ambien for the sleep problem.
This is the end of the thread.
